Junior Safety Officer

                                                              Role Profile

Job Title:                      Junior Safety Officer

Location:                     Cahir, Co. Tipperary

Contract:                     Full time contract

Requirements

  • Health and Safety qualification from a third level institution or international recognised body i.e. IOSH, OSHA.
  • Knowledge of current and future Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
  • Previously Health and Safety experience in similar organisations would be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good analysis, judgement and problem-solving skills along with an ability to input effectively into decision making, with the team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive health and safety culture across the company.
  • Support the implementation of the project health and safety goals as per company Health & Safety statement.
  • Complete inspections of workshop equipment, training of site & workshop personnel (inductions, manual handling, abrasive wheels etc.)
  • Carry out weekly toolbox talks with employees as required.
  • Coordination of subcontractor safety documentation including training records, insurances etc.
  • Manage the annual review of the company safety statement including supporting the annual safety certification audit process (Safe T).
  • Completion of health & safety records for the company including PPE register, MSDS, audit records etc.
  • Analyse company training requirements for employees, ensuring necessary training is organized and training records are up to date.
  • Any other functions deemed relevant by your line manager.

Upon commencement of the role a comprehensive Personnel Development Plan (PDP) to identify any additional training required will be put in place.

Job Title: Junior Painter

Location: Workshop based in Cahir, Co. Tipperary

Reporting to: Workshop Foreman

Contract: Full Time permanent contract

Role & Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation of Steel Structures and Equipment for Coating.

• Application of various painting systems as per Specifications - Single & 2-Pack, Single to

Multiple Coats.

• Reading of paint Specifications and following application instructions.

• Reading of Paint Data Sheets and application accordingly.

• Taking measurements of atmospheric conditions before coating and recording Data

• Taking thickness measurements after coating and recording data

• Understanding of airless spray equipment and basic Maintenance.

• Moving and handling heavy equipment as per training received.

• Working at heights as per training received

• Working in confined Spaces as per training received.

• Keeping paint area and yards clean and tidy

• Following all Health and Safety regulations and training.

• Any other functions deemed relevant by your supervisor.

Mechanical Fitter

We are currently recruiting for experienced, hardworking and reliable Mechanical Fitters in the Munster/South Leinster region for immediate start.

Candidates must be flexible with regard to shift/start times, and willing to travel to different locations to carry out their work.

Minimum Requirements:

Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting.

Or

Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Metal Fabrication.

Minimum 6 years industry experience.

Clean drivers’ licence.

Up to date Safepass, Manual Handling and Abrasive Wheel training.

Role:

•             Development and fit up of pipe-work, pipe supports, 3mm plus platework and ducting.

•             Working with Carbon and Stainless steels.

•             Reading engineering drawings.

•             Understanding of Welding Procedure Specifications and certification.

•             Working safely and ensure work is done to the right quality.

•             Understanding of Health and Safety industry guidelines.

•             Understanding of all types of welding.

•             Can work under their own initiative.
