Health & Safety Officer
As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment on our sites.
Reporting to: Health & Safety Manager
Location: Site Specific (Dublin)
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
The Role
- Develop and enforce comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures to comply with legal standards and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Ensure all employee and sub-contractors training is relevant and up-to-date.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure all health and safety requirements are met and maintained.
- Coordinate emergency response planning and conduct regular emergency drills.
- Monitor and analyze health and safety performance metrics, proposing and implementing improvements where necessary.
- Manage the certification of lifting gear and other plant.
- PSCS and PSDP function when required.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
The Person
- You should have a relevant health and safety qualification.
- Minimum 2-5 years relevant experience in a similar role with a proven track record in H&S management on construction sites.
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Clear ability to use various packages such as Microsoft project, excel, word, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- You should be able to work alone and as part of a team effectively.
