Health & Safety Officer

As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment on our sites.

Reporting to: Health & Safety Manager

Location: Site Specific (Dublin)

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract

The Role

  • Develop and enforce comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures to comply with legal standards and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures.
  • Ensure all employee and sub-contractors training is relevant and up-to-date.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure all health and safety requirements are met and maintained.
  • Coordinate emergency response planning and conduct regular emergency drills.
  • Monitor and analyze health and safety performance metrics, proposing and implementing improvements where necessary.
  • Manage the certification of lifting gear and other plant.
  • PSCS and PSDP function when required.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance.

The Person

  • You should have a relevant health and safety qualification.
  • Minimum 2-5 years relevant experience in a similar role with a proven track record in H&S management on construction sites.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Clear ability to use various packages such as Microsoft project, excel, word, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards.
  • You should be able to work alone and as part of a team effectively.
