We have excellent opportunities for Mechanical Fabricators. As a Mechanical Fabricator, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by fabricating mechanical components and assemblies. Your expertise in machining, welding, and assembly will be instrumental in producing high-quality products according to specifications and standards. We require fabricators for both our Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel Workshop.

Reporting to: Workshop Foreman

Location: Cahir, Co. Tipperary

The Role

  • Fabrication: Utilize machining tools such as lathes, mills, bandsaws, plate rolling machines, sectional rolling machines, guillotine machine and CNC machines to fabricate mechanical components with precision.
  • Welding: Perform various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, welding to join metal components accurately and securely. Experience in Submerged Welding not essential but an advantage.
  • Assembly: Assemble fabricated components into mechanical assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect fabricated parts and assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Material Handling: Handle and manage raw materials and finished components effectively, ensuring proper storage and organization.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment.

The Person

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fabricator or similar role, with expertise in machining, welding, and mechanical assembly.
  • Be proficient in operating machining tools such as lathes, mills, bandsaws, plate rolling machines, sectional rolling machines, guillotine machine and CNC machines.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical principles, blueprint reading, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Excellent attention to detail with an ability to fabricate and assemble components with high precision and accuracy, ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills to collaboration with engineering teams and convey information accurately.
  • Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate and support colleagues to achieve common goals.
